myR.fi|Tulkas, the newly formed myR.fi team's manager, to discuss his team and the eSport community.GosuGamers: Since your team is new to the DotA scene, why don't you introduce yourself and your team?
myR.fi|Tulkas: Hello, my name is Tuukka Tiainen and I am a 22 year old student from Finland. Everything that lead to this point that we became part of myR organisation started back in Assembly Winter which is the largest LAN happening in Finland. That was actually the first time I met all the others besides Imakki of myR.fi lineup. I played in a different team during the tournament than Silokki, Ducktr and DeduXsers. During the Assembly Winter '08, I made friends with
Olli "DeduXsers" Heikkilä. After the event, we collected our thoughts and set up a gather clan named Fatgather. A lot of different players play there and now the most effective squads are formed from those players.GG: How was this team formed? Did myRevenge contact you?
myR.fi|Tulkas: Yes, during the ESL, myR contacted us, they were interested in having us in their organization. DeduXsers had to brainstorm because the time limits of thinking of the right lineup weren't too flexible. There were a lot of good players who could have been in the present squad.GG: Have your team roles been established yet, i.e. gankers and carries?
myR.fi|Tulkas: The team roles have been established and none of the players had to be forced to act in uncomfortable roles. But for the sake of specifying the roles:
Ducktr is the ingame leader and mastermind after the picks and tactics. Most of the games he plays a role of carry. If anything negative has to be said, I would say that he might lose his temper in case the game is not going so well.
Silokki is acting in the role of supporter. He is always playing for the team and supporting the carry any way he can.
Angryfin is a mad ganker. I love to see him roaming the map. When this guy gets a bottle, he won't give runes away!
Imakki is usually a semi carry.
DeduXsers is support/ganker/carry. So he can play in any role needed. And if something has gone wrong, someone is sick or somehow is unable to play, I will step in and play.
GG: Any upcoming tournaments, events, or matches we can look forward to seeing you in?
myR.fi|Tulkas: We would like to attend all the upcoming tournaments whether they are open or invite only. Some tournaments would be ESL, kode, dotamasters and so on. GG: What about DreamHack?
myR.fi|Tulkas: It's not 100% certain yet, but at least we are VERY interested in it.GG: How do you feel about the developing DotA scene in Europe? The world?
myR.fi|Tulkas: It is at least developing but it could be faster! In my opinion this is a very amusing game, EVEN it is only a freaking map of WarCraft 3. It has the restrictions of WarCraft 3 but also the strengths. Maybe one day there will be DotA which can be bought in the supermarkets ;D. GG: What do you think the community or organizations should do to speed up the development of DotA?
myR.fi|Tulkas: Well, the development of DotA is kind of a funny thing. :D As far as I know it's only one guy behind it, you know? ;o But I would like to see more minor DotA communities join and become larger as one. I know a lot of good players who aren't interested in playing in High Skill gaming. More skilled players leads to everything: tournaments, sponsors, and coverage.GG: Why do some high-skilled players not want to?
myR.fi|Tulkas: I think it's the eSports overall. There's just not enough money in it. Anyways, about the DotA scene, a lot of talented players are still playing on battle.net: Minor gatherers/organizations/leagues. They have no idea that instead of playing casual gaming they could go for Clan Wars/Fun wars, join the ladder systems, etc. People have different talents, some are good in sports, some are good in eSports. Why not support people equally?!GG: I agree.
GG: So who do you think are the most challenging teams in Europe right now?
myR.fi|Tulkas: The most challenging teams must be Ravens and King Surf atm.GG: And last thing now. Any shout-outs you want to give?
myR.fi|Tulkas: Well, I would like to thank myR for giving us a chance to try us out and see what we are made of.GG: Gluck with your future endeavours ^^
myR.fi|Tulkas: TySome great points were discussed in this interview and if you have a view, don't be shy to leave a comment. Hope you all enjoyed it. More interviews coming soon!
