IEM Sydney’s playoff bracket has been set after the group stage ended this week.

IEM Sydney 2023, the first official Counter-Strike tournament to be played on Counter-Strike 2, has ended its group stage this week to finalise the playoff bracket. BetBoom Team, compLexity Gaming, ENCE and FaZe Clan emerged victorious from a bevy of matches to make it to the playoffs, while G2 Esports and MOUZ went straight to the semifinals by coming out on top of their groups.

Who’s in the quarterfinals?

Following the end of the group stage, ENCE and FaZe are now set to face off against one another in the playoffs. The victor of this matchup will go on to face MOUZ in the semifinals. BetBoom on the other hand, will compete with Complexity and the winning team will engage G2 in the semifinals. The winner of the semifinals will, of course, head into the grand finals for a chance to be crowned the first-ever Counter-Strike 2 LAN champions.

IEM Sydney 2023 sports a $250,000 prize pool divided among the Top 16 teams, with the 1st place winner also getting a ticket to compete in IEM Katowice 2024. The playoffs matches will be played in a best-of-three single-elimination bracket, as all four remaining teams race for the finals. BetBoom and Complexity have yet to face one another in the tournament thus far, so the quarterfinals will see their first official match-up.

BetBoom will face Complexity in the first match of the playoffs on October 20, with ENCE also set to battle FaZe later on the same day. The two winning teams will enter the semifinals on October 21, after which the two topmost teams enter the grand finals on October 22. The playoffs will be held at the Aware Super Theatre in Sydney.
