Three members of Vexed Gaming's CS:GO roster have opted to step down following the announcement of Hovik "KQLY" Tovmassian's trial on the team.
Last night
Vexed Gaming announced that the team would be signing Hovik "KQLY" Tovmassian on trial during ESL Championnat National. For those not in the know, KQLY was banned after VAC detected cheating software being used by the French player, seeing him banned indefinitely from Valve-sanctioned events in the future. Whilst the rule stands true to this day, ESL have adjusted their rule set to allow players to participate two years after their VAC ban, something Vexed Gaming decided to take advantage of.
Allegedly, the organisation did not consult the members of the roster prior to signing the Frenchman on trial, leading to overwhelming negativity and subsequently the departure of three members:
Steve "JArOd" Cohen,
Léonard "SmyLi" Michelino and Team Analyst, Renaud "WiPR" Malfait. A joint statement was posted from the two professional players on TwitLonger, whilst Malfait posted one of his own, where the lack of consultation and discussion was an outlined topic.
Below are some tweets from prominent figures within the French CS:GO scene, extrapolating their opinion on the situation:
The aforementioned situation has left Vexed Gaming without an analyst and only three members in:
