ESL One Cologne 2017 - Immortals invited to LAN finals

The Brazilian roster of Immortals has received a direct invite to participate at the LAN finals of ESL One: Cologne 2017.

Immortals are the tenth team to be announced as participants at the LAN finals of ESL One: Cologne 2017. The Brazilian roster received a direct invite to participate at the event, and will be joined by fifteen other teams at the Laxness Arena in Cologne, Germany this July. A grand total of sixteen teams will duke it out for $250,000 on July 7th-9th. Twelve teams (ten of which have been announced already) will receive direct invitations, whilst four will be determined via regional qualifiers.

Immortals are currently participating in the DreamHack Austin 2017 tournament, where they have bypassed all opponents in the group stage, securing a placement in the semi-finals. Opponents that fell to their performance included the likes of North American representatives in Team Liquid and Cloud9. The team is showing great potential at the LAN event, and if they can keep up the form throughout the summer, they could be a serious contender in Cologne. In regards to online performances, the team is currently in second place behind SK Gaming on the EPL Season 5 League and 7th on the ECS Season 3 leader boards, however with the latter the team had only performed against a single opponent (Cloud9), where the team went splits at 1-1.
