CS:GO News Week in Review: August 22nd

Valve announces new coaching rules

Valve have recently ruled that coaches are no longer allowed to be permanently present throughout Valve-sponsored LAN events. Instead, they are now only able to communicate with their players during the warm up phase, half time and newly introduced 30 second breaks, of which teams have four per map. See our interviews about the topic with Nikola "NiKo" Kova? here and Florian "DRUNKKZ3" Le Bihan here.

Rogue signs Unity

Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez formed the team at the end of July which has now been signed by a new eSports organization, Rogue, a week before their first LAN appearance. The Rogue organization is a new face in the eSports scene - having just formed on May 3rd and quickly acquiring a European Overwatch team. Rogue will compete in just a few days from August 26-28 at the Power-LAN tournament in Odense, Denmark and then from September 1-4 at the Northern Arena event in Toronto, Canada.

OpTic Gaming add Tarik

Tarik "tarik" Celik stood down from CLG's active roster in July and announced that he would resume his professional career in 2017 due to personal reasons, particularly developing his streaming career. OpTic released Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and welcomed the Turkish star on August 21st.

Oskar joins Mousesports

The 25 year-old Czech player, who had been an inactive player on HellRaisers, replaced Johannes "nex" Maget in Mous' starting lineup. Despite recent successes, particularly in their 3-4th finish at ELEAGUE Season 1 and a $70,000 prize, the German organization felt that a roster change was necessary and Nex has been moved to an inactive role for the time being.

Na'Vi withdraw from ECS Developmental League

Navi skip their second ECS event of the year, citing their busy schedule and resulting fatigue on both occasions. Because of their withdrawal, the winner of the European Developmental League will directly qualify for ECS Season 2. The CIS squad will compete in the online ESL Pro League Season 4, at the StarLadder i-League Season 2 finals, ESL New York, and IEM Oakland this fall.
