Mousesports edge out G2 on two tense overtime matches, CLG puts up a great effort following a demoralizing first map but FaZe emerges victorious 2-1.

France G2 v. Germany Mousesports 4:11, 5:5 (9:16) 4:11, 11:4 (15:15)(10:7), 5:10, 10:5 (15:15)(2:4)
Winner: Germany Mousesports 2-1
Maps: de_Dust2, de_Cache, de_Overpass
MVP: Bosnia and Herzegovina Nikola "NiKo" Kova?

Neither team entered this team as the clear favorite, with both rosters including extremely skillful players and G2’s slight statistical edge being neutralized by the absence of Cédric "RpK" Guipouy. G2 struggled to take early control of the series and Mous ran away with the first half the series, CT of Dust2, 11-4 with ease and eventually the map 16-9 without too much of a contest from the Frenchmen.

An unprecedented 2-0 scoreline was looming when Mous once again took an 11-4 lead, this time on the T side of Cache. A comeback seemed possible before Mous won the pistol, but at 13-4 nobody predicted G2 to make a comeback considering their stale form earlier in the series. Impossibly and against the run of play, the Frenchmen clambered back to tie up the game 15-15. The first and second overtimes went back and forth, with risky double-awp and autosniper buys making for an even more tense match. G2 finally claimed four rounds in the third overtime and won the map 25-22.

Again, Mous took an early lead in the first half, this time taking a 10-5 lead on their CT side of Overpass. Once again in similar fashion, the Germans won the second half pistol and went up 13-5 before proceeding to allow a comeback from the Frenchmen before finally being put on mappoint in the 29th round by NiKo and then eventually conceding the 30th round for another overtime series. The Germans managed to win the map in the first overtime 19-17 and the series 2-1 to earn a spot in the semifinals of the LCQ.

Europe FaZe v. United States CLG 11:4, 5:0 (16:4) 7:8, 7:8 (14:16) 7:8, 8:7 (15:15)(7:4)
Winner: Europe FaZe 2-1
Maps: de_Mirage, de_Cbble, de_Dust2
MVP: Norway Håvard "rain" Nygaard

FaZe came out as the expected favorites would, taking an early 9-1 lead on their T side of Mirage, their map pick, before CLG could respond. FaZe kept a firm grip on the match, finishing the half 11-4 and taking the first map with ease, 16-4.

The second map kicked off with FaZe winning pistol again, but CLG put up a competitive performance, winning their T half 8-7. CLG managed to win their first pistol of the series and the following rounds to take an impressive 13-8 performance before FaZe regrouped and leveled the score at 13-13. CLG managed to reverse the momentum of the match and, in upset fashion, take the map off FaZe 16-14.

Speculation began brewing as the series moved to the decider map, Dust2, about the possibility of a huge upset on the pug-style favored map. FaZe once again picked up the pistol round, this time on CT, but CLG put up a decent performance to win the half 8-7. Much like Cobblestone, CLG won the pistol and managed to accrue a 13-8 lead. FaZe bounced back and teams traded ridiculous clutches to elevate the score to 14-14 before CLG went up 15-14 and then FaZe saved the game at 15-15. Both teams traded rounds in the first overtime but FaZe pieced together four rounds in the second overtime to win the map 22-19 and the series 2-1 to face Mousesports on Friday for a spot in the ELEAGUE playoffs.
