G2 Esports adds Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro

G2 eSports will be letting go of Kevin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans in order to bring in more fire-power to their line-up.

Kevin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans is considered by many in the professional scene to be one of the top in-game leaders in the world, if not the best. However, G2 eSports have struggled in recent months under his direction, causing the organization to make the tough decision of trading him for new talent, LDLC's Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro. The 19-year-old has number of titles under his belt, including first at Assembly Winter 2016, 2nd at Gamers Assembly 2015, and 5th at Dreamhack Valencia 2014. G2 states that the in-game leader role will now rest on the shoulders of Richard “shox” Papillon, while the new addition to the team will fill a more standard rifle role.

G2's coach Jérôme “NiaK” Sudries had the following to say about the trade:

Where to start… This adventure with Kévin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans began eight years ago, and this roster change is not a change like any other; Kévin is not a player like any other. Throughout the years, Kévin has devoted both energy and passion into developing our team and elevating our gameplay, while ensuring that all players acquire a winning mentality. We have worked and grown both as colleagues and friends, and stuck together in good times and in bad. It is therefore with a heavy heart that it’s now become time to part ways, but I know this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Kévin and I wish him the best of luck, both as a player and close friend.

This is a major change for us, but also a major opportunity. With that in mind, I am happy to welcome Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro to the team. He stood out to us as having that “little bit extra” that only the greatest players have, and we look forward to adding his skillset to our team. As a result of this roster change, Richard “shox” Papillon will inherit the heavy role of team captain, further cementing the beginning of a new era.
