Renegades secure spot in ESL Pro League

The Australian lineup, Renegades, have received a direct invite to the upcoming season of the ESL Pro League.

Today, ESL announced the final team that will be playing in the North American division of the upcoming ESL Pro League: Renegades. This is the team's first validation of their move to North America, having moved specificaly to participate in and receive invites to top-tier events such as the ESL Pro League.

The ESL Pro League will be split into two seasons over 2016 that will both feature $750,000 prize pools. This is an increase of $250,000 per season over last year's totals. The league is scheduled to begin during the week of February 8th.

Christopher "MonteCristo" Mykles, co-owner of Regenades, said the following in a statement to ESL:

Renegades is thrilled to participate in the next season of the ESL Pro League. Our players have traveled a great distance from their homes in Australia and committed to relocating to North America in order to regularly play in a higher level of competition. We hope to evolve our gameplay and skill over the course of 2016, and regular league play is the first step towards improvement. We're excited to be in the next season and grow into a stronger, more confident team!”
