The draw for the group stages of the MLG minors Columbus has concluded , with the qualifying teams being placed into two groups.
The MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio will be hosting the Americas minor championships from January 15th -17th. Seven teams will square off for their share of the $50,000, in addition to the offline qualifier spot for the MLG Columbus major.
The Brazilian duo of Operation Kino and AlienTech are last minute no shows, due to visa complications. Complexity gaming who secured their spot in the qualifiers was supposed to attend as well, however they will not be attending the event for unannounced reasons.
In order to fill the vacated spots MLG brought in american teams Leader-1 and EGZ. This means that there will be one group of 3 and in group of 4 in the tournament bracket.
The tournament consists of the competing teams split into two double-elimination groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the single-elimination playoffs, which will be played in a best-of-three format.
