Virtus.Pro and Kinguin faced off for the last semifinal of group A, which ended up being one of the strangest matchups of the day. Kinguin narrowly lost the first map on de_train, which went to an overtime and ended with a score of 18:21 in Virtus' favour. VP's strength began to falter in the matchup however, with the Poles losing to Kinguin on de_dust2 16:12. More shocking though was the final map of de_cache, where Kinguin pulled out an incredible 16:0 victory, a result no one expected from the up-and-coming team.

Group A

Kinguin then moved on to face Na'Vi, where the multinational team didn't have the same showing as they did against Virtus.Pro with Na'Vi giving the viewers an uncharacteristic showing, abandoing their usual slow methodical takes on the T side in favor of fast plays that left Kinguin with no answer for a half time score of 12:3. Things continued downhill for Kinguin in the second half as Na'Vi took the second pistol. Kinguin, however managed to stabilize at the last possible moment, almost bringing the match overtime but Na'Vi closed it out 16:11.

On the second map de_inferno Kinguin pulled a few suprises of their own, steamrolling Natus Vincere in the first four rounds, but Na'Vi wrestled the match back into their control and took the majority of the rest of the half for a score of 8:7. The Ukrainians gave Kinguin a scare in the second half by taking the pistol, but were quickly knocked down by a forcebuy won by a triple kill from Dennis "dennis" Edman. Na'Vi, seemingly unable to switch away from their aggressive playstyle, let Kinguin run away with the game and take the second map 16:11. Na'Vi came back on de_overpass with a solid T half 9:6 in their favor, and continued the momentum into the second taking a flawless pistol and not allowing Kinguin any more rounds in the series, ending it 2-1.

Group B

In group B we saw relatively easy win for NiP against Team Liquid in the lower bracket semifinal match, with a quick 2-0 win on de_dust2 and de_cache with 16:6 and 16:10 scorelines respectively. The North American team struggled to find an answer to NiP's dominanting style of agression, especially on their CT sides. Clearing Liquid, NiP then looked to take on fnatic in the lower bracket finals. On de_train, NiP struggled to break fnatic's stellar CT hold, leaving them with a 5:10 half. The Ninjas almost brought the game to overtime on their own CT side, but lost with a heartbreaking 16:14. On the second map, de_mirage, NiP looked to have a strong opening, racking up five rounds to fnatic's one on their CT side, but fnatic recovered and managed to even it up in time for the second half at 7:8. fnatic barely lost the pistol, but were able to buy the next round back and grind out the rest of the rounds, ending the map 16:14 and the series 2-0.
