ESWC has released the latest information on their upcoming world finals in Montreal, Canada, including format and prize distribution.
As we approach Electronic Sports World Cup Montreal, set to start in mid July, more details have been slowly released about the event by ESWC. The organization has now revealed the final format of the event as well as the prize distributions.
The sixteen teams competing will be split four ways for the group stage, where each team in every group will play each other once in a best-of-one round robin. The top two finishers in each group will the procede to the sudden death playoffs, where teams will be seeded into a bracket and each match will be played through a best-of-three series.
Prize Distributions:
1st Place: $30,000
2nd Place: $15,000
3rd-4th Place: $8,000
5th-8th Place: $3,500
