Once more ESWC had to correct their participants list, as last year's champions Fnatic have had to cancel their participation due to a tight schedule. Fnatic had almost a flawless run in the last year's edition of ESWC as they dropped only one map in the whole tournament. They bettered Team LDLC in the finals 2-0.

Fnatic will be replaced by Titan. The French team was getting ready to participate at the French ESWC qualifier, but this situation came out for them as a jackpot so they were glad to accept the replacement ticket.
