CEVO has released details on the playoffs for the current season, as well as details for the upcoming season 8.
CEVO playoffs
The CEVO playoffs for season 7 are coming quickly! Taking place in the MLG.tv arena in Columbus, Ohio, the LAN playoffs will feature the top three teams from North America and Europe, along with top teams Fnatic and EnvyUs, who did not participate in season 7. The LAN playoffs will take place from July 24-26 with a group format, featuring 2 groups of 4 teams participating in best-of-ones followed by a 4 team single elimination bracket in the best-of-three, finally finishing with a best-of-five grand finals.
Move-ups
CEVO has also released details for how move-ups for season 8 will work.
FREE Division for North America and Europe will have the top 32 teams qualify in the FREE Division Playoffs in a double elimination bracket, with best-of-one matches on predetermined matches. However, all North American FREE teams will be moved up to CEVO's Amateur division, and all European FREE teams will be moved up into their Intermediate division.
Amateur division for North America will see the top 64 teams qualify in the Amateur Division Playoffs in a double elimination bracket, with best-of-one matches and a map veto. The top 4 Amateur playoff teams will be invited into the Main division, while the remaining playoff teams will be moved into the Intermediate division.
Intermediate division for North America and Europe will have the top 16 European teams qualify for the Intermediate Division playoffs, also seeing the double elimination best-of-one matches with a map veto. All 16 playoff teams will be invited into the main division.
Main division for North America and Europe will have the top 8 teams qualify for the Main Division Playoffs, in a double elimination bracket, with best-of-three matches and a map veto. All Main playoff teams will be invited to play in the CEVO Professional Placement Tournament, and all teams with a winning rate of less then .500 will be moved down into the Intermediate division.
Roster lock
CEVO has announced that all team rosters for season 7 will be permanently locked on Thursday, June 18th at 11:59 PM CDT. They recommend sorting out rosters, including backups, immediately.
