Troubley announces plans to retire
Long-time CS professional Tobias "Troubley" Tabbert revealed this week that he will be retiring from competitive play. The move comes only a week after his move to Penta Sports during the swap with mousesports.
Overwatch and matchmaking overhauled
One of the biggest updates to CS:GO rolled out this week, bringing much-needed changes to matchmaking as well as bringing Overwatch out of Beta. Players will now be able to earn XP points by completing Overwatch cases, and will recieve additional XP if they choose the correct verdict. The matchmaking system now alerts players if they had wins revoked due to playing with cheater, and, more importantly, players must now be profile rank three to play MM. Spectating has also been improved, with the tickrate now being 32 instead of the previous 16.
Dreamhack Summer groups A and B played
Dreamhack Open Summer 2015 kicked off this weekend Jönköping, Sweden, with the both Groups A and B being played out over the course of the weekend. Group A ended with Fnatic topping their group with a 2-0 record, while Natus Vincere had similar results in Group B. The playoffs are set for later today with the final three matches.
Loord quits competitive CS
This week saw another loss of a former 1.6 pro, Mariusz "Loord" Cybulski. Cybulski played for some of the top teams during his career in 1.6, as well as winning multiple titles and majors.
DH Leipzig to return
Years after the last event Dreamhack has announced that they will be bringing back their popular German event in Leipzig. The event is set to take place next year from January 22nd to the 23rd at the Leipzig trade show.
