Skyred wins FACEIT SEA Launch Cup

The Vietnamese team Skyred managed to defeat Team nxl 2-0 to win FACEIT SEA Launch Cup and grand prize of $1,000.

The FACEIT SEA Launch Cup featured eight Asian teams fighting for a piece of the $1,500 prize pool, where the winner took $1,000 and the second placed team $500. The teams were placed into the single elimination bracket which was played using the best-of-one format, with the exception of the grand finals which used a best-of-three series.

Skyred and Team nxl met in the grand finals after a very easy road for both teams throughout the tournament. nxl first had a walkover in the round 1 as the Chinese team Tyloo was unable to attend their match due to scheduling conflicts. The next opponent for the Singaporean team was MVP.karnal which was easily defeated with 16-6. On the other hand Skyred won 16-11 against myRevenge and 16-10 against Team Bovines to reach the grand finals.

In the grand finals Team nxl were first to take the slice of their opponent. The Singaporean team took a very dominant win on de_cache with 16-6 and went into the second map full of confidence. However, Skyred showed that they are also a force to be reckoned with. They won the second map with 16-10 and moved this match into the third and final map, de_dust2. This map was opened with a gang by Skyred as they managed to claim a big 13 rounds on T side and the second half was an easy closing for them 16-8.
