The second quarter final match brought us a duel between the top eight finishers of the previous major, Fnatic and Penta Sports.

After a lot of drama about their last match at DreamHack Winter, Fnatic was coming to this event with their thoughts straight up to the first place. Arguable currently the best team in the scene wants to prove their role in the first major and their next opponent is a German team Penta. Penta Sports made a big surprise during the last major getting themselves into the top eight finishers and after getting into the hard group at ESL One Katowice they proved once again that they are a force to reckon with. The map pick was as follows: Fnatic picked de_inferno, Penta went for de_cache and the random third map was de_mirage.
Picking de_inferno, Fnatic had a slight disadvantage of starting on the less favored T side, which in their case wasn't a big of an issue. olofmeister once again opened a match with the big 4 kills made by tec9. But, Penta quickly answered by winning the next round and make it even, 1-1. However, the Swedes are considered as the best team on de_inferno shown clearly as they powerfully took the following round. Slowly they scored round after round for a strong 11-4 at the end of the first half. Penta still had time to show their great skill as they opened up the second half by taking a pistol round. During this half we could see the game going back and forth for both teams, which in the end worked out pretty well for Fnatic as they took the win of 16-8.
The second map, which was a map of Penta's choice, didn't bring them much of luck as Fnatic took this map under their control very early on. Starting on CT side, Fnatic didn't struggle much to take a huge lead and before switching over to T side with 13-2 in their favor. The second pistol round went into their hands which extended the lead to 14-2 and Penta was already seen out. However, the German players won an eco round which kept them alive a little longer. In the end Fnatic won 16-7 and they will be moving on to the semi finals against either Keyd or home favourites Virtus Pro.
