The first day of ESL One Katowice has seen a sixteen teams battling out throughout the group stage for the eight spots in the playoffs. We can freely say that The Legends proved their title as only one out of eight Legend teams didn't manage to qualify to the playoffs.
The first match to open the playoffs will be a DreamHack Winter semi-final re-match between Natus Vincere and Team EnVyUs. They will open day 2 with their match at 13.00 CET. The next match to follow is a duel between Fnatic and PENTA Sports. It will be interesting to see if PENTA can cause a huge upset and eliminate the Swedish favourite or if Fnatic will just move on to the top four. This match will start at 16.00 CET. The last match of day 2 will be the one featuring a home team, Virtus.pro taking on Keyd Stars, the only team from The Challengers who managed to make it through to the group stage. The last quarter final match between NiP and TSM will be played on day 3 at 13.00 CET.
