Placed in the #2 European qualifier, PENTA dropped its only map in the first round against fellow German side myKPV.de. Nevertheless, they advanced to the second round to face the competent Danish team, Copenhagen Wolves. PENTA Sports managed to walk away with comfortable wins of 16-10 and 16-5 on de_inferno and de_dust2, respectively.

Kevin "kRYSTAL" Amend and his teammates met up with Marcus "delpan" Larsson and his AliGon teammates in the qualifier final. Scheduled as a best-of-five, PENTA only needed three consecutive map wins to book their spot in the CCS main event later this month. Despite a 3-0 series victory, it was a lot closer than it looks. De_cache(map #1) and de_inferno(map #3) each yielded a 16-12 scoreline, while de_dust2 concluded 16-13 in favor of the Germans.

PENTA has joined FlipSid3, the other European qualifier winner, in the PGL CS:GO Championship Series. The two qualifier winners will be joining a premier list of invitees, including current #1 Fnatic, not to mention a number of other elite level teams. The CCS tournament is slated to begin in just over a week on March 17, featuring a $110,000 prize pool.
