When PGL's Championship Series was announced a month ago the prize pool was set at $110,000 USD. Now, however, we have news that PGL has formed an agreement with the Twitch broadcasting service in order to offer tournament viewers the opportunity to increase the cash prize that was already stated.
In order for tournament viewers to increase the prize pool they will be required to subscribe to the PGL Twitch channel, this is when viewers opt to pay $5 and receive exclusive viewer features in return, including a subscriber badge and access to special emoticons casual viewers don't have permissions to use.
PGL have now released news that there will be two prize pool tiers that can be unlocked through Twitch subscriber money before April 15, starting from the already declared $110,000. The tiers will be as follows:
First tier: $125,000 total prize pool – subscriber-only vote for 1v1 matches between professional players, on custom maps, streamed live from DreamHack Bucharest 2015.
Second tier: $150,000 total prize pool – All-Star match during DreamHack Bucharest 2015, with the map, teams and casters decided by the subscribers through online voting.
