Blizzard has confirmed that there are some issues with many of the U.S. servers and has listed a total of 37 servers to be taken down in a few hours for emergency maintenance.
The maintenance will be going on at 5:00AM (PST) this morning for approximately an hour. Many other players from other realms are experiencing similar problems though and they are not on the fairly large list of servers that are being taken down. The problems that I experienced tonight on Cenarius ranged from not being able to retrieve my in game mail, to delayed skills being used. My guild ended up cancelling our weekly Molten Core run for the week at only Magmadar.
Blizzard is stating (through our ever favorite CM, Caydiem) that " We’re aware of the loss in connectivity on certain realms this evening. This is an issue outside of Blizzard’s network, unrelated to the realms themselves. We are working with the related outside teams to get the issue resolved as soon as possible. Thank you for bearing with us in the meantime.
Please do not make threads about the issue in the meantime -- we're aware of the problems."
The problem from what I hear seems to be their ISP and not the Blizzard servers themselves. Will we be receiving compensation for these issues? We'll keep you up to date as to what Blizzard does with these servers and how their performance is tommorow.
