As always happens every single patch, people complain. This time it might be legit though. There has been brought up the issue of what was "fixed" in the patch as what may be a nerf to casters. While some concerns seem to be valid, there are many who believe that this is just overblown.
The patch change in question is what seems to be a small one at first. "Debuffs and area effect spells now use their actual cast level rather than effective cast level for calculating periodic resistance." This may not seems like a huge issue, and is in theory for keeping high level characters from spamming rank one spells to conserve mana. The problem to this is that many spells top ranks come at level 56, and not 60. So if you're a level 60 character attacking another level 60 character with that spell, there is a much higher chance to resist it now. While it makes sense that a spell should cast at it's true level (when you are able to learn that, is that spells level) then there now needs to be level 60 ranks for all spells.
It looks as if poor frost mages will be playing at level 56 with their spells instead of being fully capable. While this an issue in PvE during high levels instances where you are facing mobs with much higher levels than you (say, 62) this becomes a huge issue in PvP. If this is in fact true melee class have just had a huge jump on casters. Even then though, rogues are still having some issues that somewhat goes along with this.
If a rogue resists a spell while in stealth, you're still brought out of stealth! Shouldn't damage be the only thing to take you out of stealth? I think it would make sense that only damage takes you out of stealth. It is very upsetting to see warriors spam shout in hopes that a rogue is close enough to pop them out of stealth.
While there are quite a few problems that Blizzard needs to address, I think the patch overall is pretty well done. If you have any more issues that feel should be addressed in a newpost such as this, let me know and I will definetly look into it. Keep on adventuring!
