Yay debunked the drama around Bleed Esports

Yay has responded to all the drama surrounding himself and Bleed Esports.

It hasn't been the best of times for both Bleed Esports and Jaccob “yay” Whitetaker after the player responded to criticism thrown at him from a Reddit post. The post in question was in reference to what Cong “crazyguy” Anh Ngo said during a recent livestream where he hosted a watch party for the VCT Pacific Stage 1 match between Bleed and DetonatioN FocusMe.

In the post, crazyguy spoke of what transpired after the Riot Games ONE PRO INVITATIONAL, which took place in early December of last year, and how the team had a month's break with basically no practice. The only thing that was asked of the players was to play ranked matches in order to maintain their form as the VCT Pacific Kickoff was a few months away.

And according to crazyguy, when the team's assistant coach and analyst, Sushant “Ominous” Jha checked on the player's VALORANT account stats, he noted that most of the players had played a fair amount of ranked games except for yay. Allegedly, he had not played a single ranked match the entire month of December.

When questioned about it by Ominous, yay had responded by stating he was playing on a clone account. He was then asked to provide his clone account so Ominous could make a report of it, to which yay never responded. Well, he has now through a response to said Reddit post about the entire ordeal. This is what yay had to say in regard to the drama:

accounts are region locked, and the only way to change region in VALORANT is to have riot do it manually
my main account I transferred over to APAC. if fly I back to NA, i'm still forced onto APAC servers (200+ ping) which is unplayable
instead of going back and forth between riot everytime im in NA and APAC, having 2 accounts is easier.
part of the reason why we had a month break is I needed to personally go back to the USA to pack up my LA apartment and move it all. since my lease was ending and breaking it earlier would of cost insane amount of money. i dont have any family in LA so i needed to move all my stuff+car to texas (20h+ drive) before christmas/new years. i also on top of that had to get my japan visa, which i was having some issues with.
ominous never asked me for my alt, he can verify this. either way, this is super weird to bring up and auto assume im lying about it?
this will be probably the only time i respond to all this weird drama. im not going to go into some back and forth. i will say though that some of the things that happened - if it happened in any other profession/team that person would instantly be kicked/fired the first time, let alone multiple other times.

This comes just a little over a month after both crazyguy and Javier “Egoist” Chua were removed from the starting line-up of the team. Egoist has since left the org while crazyguy was benched as Bleed brought in some new blood in the form of Jorell “Retla” Teo and former DRX player, Gi-Seok “Zest” Kim. The team has had an underwhelming start to its VCT run since winning Ascension last season.

The team got off to the worst possible start during the VCT Pacific Kickoff where they finished in joint-last alongside DFM. And ever since the roster shuffle, it hasn't been all that great for them in the VCT Pacific Stage 1. Bleed lost their first three games of the group stage against the likes of Talon Esports, Rex Regum Qeon, as well as ZETA Division. While they did manage to defeat DFM, Bleed still has their work cut out for them as their last two matches are against Paper Rex and DRX.

Both were the Pacific's best teams last season with the former getting a third-place finish during the recent VCT Masters Madrid. As for DRX, they have already solidified their place in the next round whereas PRX will need to win its match-up against Bleed in order to qualify. The same can also be said for Bleed as there's just one more spot left in its group with the likes of T1 and Global Esports also hot on their heels.
