The French team is likely to get a second shot at the OGN title after a top eight finish in the inaugural season.

According to a report by Over.gg, NRG Esports and Rogue will be the two foreign invites into the third season of APEX, the information being leaked by “sources close to the OGN’s production staff and both Rogue and NRG”. The Korean premier tournament announced a few days ago on stream that it's halving the spots reserved for Western teams, making room for two additional Challenger rosters to step up.

Speculations quickly arose as to which those two teams would be. With Laser Kittenz and eUnited announcing bootcamps in Korea, fans looked at them as possible participants in APEX Season 3, but eyes were also fixed on EnVyUs as former champions and the best performing foreign team of the most recent season, Immortals as one of the hottest team in North America and French powerhouse Rogue, a team which has been rising through the ranks with rapid speed, recently surpassing EnVyUs.

Rogue’s rumored invitation into APEX could mark their return to South Korea after they took a top eight spot in the inaugural season, losing the quarter finals to eventual champions EnVyUs.

Much more intriguing is the invitation extended to NRG Esports. The team has been undergoing a roster revamp for months now and hasn’t participated in a tournament since December 2016. Regardless, NRG still hosts a slew of Overwatch talent with star DPS Brandon “Seagull” Larned with the captainship and the likes of ex-Fnatic DPS André “iddqd” Dahlström and veteran flex Anthony “Harbleu” Ballo.

Season three of APEX itself is scheduled to begin April 28, with the Korean line-up to be confirmed this Sunday with the completion of the promotion super week.
