Overwatch Pit Championship NA Group A day 3 & 4 recap - High highs and low lows

It’s that time again, the time where we recap the past two days of the Overwatch Pit Championship.

Event hub

The European group stage of the Overwatch Pit Championship concluded this past weekend, so they get some rest before the next stage of the tournament starts. Meanwhile, the NA teams are still going at it, nearing the end of their Group A games. During the third round of the Group A games, we saw CompLexity make a comeback. Sort of. They faced LG Evil, and managed to pick a win on Numbani after a less than ideal start. Meanwhile, LG Evil took it as a reason to focus even more, and they took the next two maps and thus the win fairly convincing in the end.

The third round of games also gave us Gale Force versus Rise Nation, where Gale Force once again tried something a little different. This time with Shrugger on Sombra, twice, during their Volskaya game. That game ended in a draw, but it's hard to say whether this was because of Sombra or not. In any case, Rise Nation showed that they are the stronger team taking the series 2-0. We also saw Selfless take a quick 2-0 win versus CLG, which was to be expected considering Selfless' current form.

During round four we saw pretty much the same pattern as before. After so many days, the group standings are solidifying. Selfless continued their winning streak, beating Rise Nation 2-0. The last game of the round was GFE, which is sharing the bottom spot with CoL, against an on paper much stronger LG Evil. Gale Force actually managed to snatch a map from LG, but that was about it.

So after these two rounds of games, the group looks… pretty much already decided. Selfless is at a solid 4 wins/0 losses, with Rise Nation and LG Evil close behind. Then there’s Gale Force and CoL at the very bottom with their 0 wins 4 losses. Tonight these two teams will face each other for the honor of getting a win on the board. The other matches on the schedule might have an impact on the seeding for the playoffs, but are mostly to build confidence. All these games will be broadcasted on twitch.tv/overwatchpit at 01:00 CEST/9am PDT
