The January Monthly Melee comes hot on the heels of quite a few roster and team changes. FaZe has dropped TwoEasy. -bird noises- now flies the Hammers eSports flag. Immortals withdrew, and Denial stepped up to the plate. Spicy Boys have made their Alienware debut as well, with a solid start.

Spicy Boys have impressed by securing victories over Rise Nation and Denial, as well as taking a map off of Faze. Hammers has made even bigger waves with 2:0 wins over LuminosityTeam Liquid and Splyce. An explosive group series concluded with Rise Nation, LG, Hammers, and Spicy Boys in the upper bracket. Meanwhile, Faze, Splyce, Liquid, and Denial occupy slots in lower bracket.

It may feel like something is off with recognizable names like Faze and Team Liquid starting in the lower bracket while Spicy Boys and Hammers eSports have spots in the upper bracket. Fans should rest assured that another day can bring new levels of determination; the fight for those in the lower bracket is far from over. The January Monthly Melee Group Stage had some very surprising matches, with strong quad tank compositions and aggressive Reinhardt play carving the way through the broadcast. Edgy compositions with Sombras, Pharahs, and triple DPS were showcased during the matches with varying levels success.

Super from Hammers eSports carved a path for his team with his aggressive Reinhardt plays. Enigma, playing with Team Liquid, unleashed devastating D.Va ultimates wherever he went, for the entirety of the Group Stage. Faze's new addition, Mikeya, showed off his skill on multiple heroes and didn't disappoint.

Kings Row was rarely seen, which is unusual for an Overwatch Tournament. Every matchup but one ended with a score of 2-0 as well, but this should change today. FaZe vs Spicy Boys ended 2:1 in favor of FaZe. Despite FaZe besting Spicy Boys, FaZe found themselves in the lower bracket while Spicy Boys claimed a spot up top. Undeniably, this Monthly Melee so far has been full of surprises in map drafts, team changes, big plays, and overall results.

Tune in again today to see the conclusion of yet another great Alienware Monthly Melee.
