The Overwatch World Cup was announced about three months ago, and has seen players from all over the world come together to play for their home nations. Just about every major country got a chance to draft a team through the voice of their nation, but we have since let go of all but eight teams/countries. BlizzCon 2016, happening today and tomorrow, is home to the final rounds of this first ever Overwatch World Cup!

Over the past week, Opening Week of BlizzCon, we had to say goodbye to a total of eight teams. The final eight that remain have formed the following Single-Elimination bracket:

While all eight teams deserve their spot in the bracket, after months of qualifiers, and with the potential for upsets as high as ever, there are still certain teams coined as the favorites. Where before this weekend Sweden was far and wide the most popular choice as top dog, their loss to Spain a few days ago hurt their hype a lot. USA is sure to enjoy a ton of support on their homeground, but has a very tough cookie to crack in South Korea, featuring a good part of the Lunatic Hai roster that proved to be superior to NA's NRG at the APAC Premier. Only the Grand Finals and 3rd/4th place decider match are scheduled for Saturday, so get ready for a long haul of amazing Overwatch today!
