A Viewers Guide to the Lenovo Cup Group Stage Day 2

Lenovo's Overwatch Cup is moving along nicely. The playoffs will happen later this month, and the teams are currently preparing for that phase in the Group Stage.

The Lenovo Cup, with an $8,000 prizepool, is currently the biggest EU event going on. Five teams were invited, and they were joined by 3 qualifying teams (EndPoint, TORNADO ROX, Ninjas in Pyjamas). Yesterday the first matches of the Group Stage phase were played, and we will continue with that today.

Today's matches

The first match of today will be between European titans Dignitas and Luminosity. With both the teams being capable of amazing gameplay, it will depend on their grasp of the meta and their current form. Dignitas is the older, more experienced roster, but they have been losing some ground (ending with a 65% win rate in August).

Meanwhile, Luminosity quickly rose in our Rankings these past months and managed an impressive 84% winrate in August. They are still behind Dignitas in our rankings, but we expect them to surpass Dig sooner rather than later. Our money is on LG for this one.

Ninjas in Pyjamas vs ANOX is the second match of today. Both teams have virtually equal ratings in our GosuRankings, and have managed to avoid playing against each other for a while. Last match was convincingly won by NiP, but this was back at the start of July. Meanwhile ANOX has been improving and improving, even winning against top team Misfits. NiP has been playing some more matches, versus some weaker teams, so they might be more prepared for this match than ANOX.
