When it comes to competitive Overwatch, ESL has been a real big supporter of the scene. Recently they had their Atlantic Showdown at gamescom which featured some of the best teams in the world. But now it's time for another ESL King of the Hill, featuring some really big names.
ESL’s King of the Hill is fairy straightforward. The tournaments are held weekly, with three teams competing: one invited team, one Go4 team and the current King of the Hill champions. The open cup winners FaZe will take on the invited team Method in a Bo5 series. This will determine which team that will face off versus the reigning kings from last week: compLexity.
The last mentioned team will of course be seen as the favorite. coL has been looking strong lately, especially when they beat Cloud9 at gamescom. But, as usual, anything can happen in the competitive scene. The team winning will not only get $1000, but will also earn the right to defend their spots as champions in the next week’s tournament.
