A Viewers Guide to the GosuGamers Weekly NA #15

Another Sunday can mean only one thing, it’s time for GosuGamers Weekly NA #15!

Event Hub

GosuGamers Weekly NA #15 will begin in just a little while (21:00 CEST/15:00 EDT/12:00 PDT) so here is a preview to get you ready! The no hero limit experiment from last week is gone, and we are back to one hero limit. Also gone are EnVyUs and Cloud9 – they are taking part in the Beyond the Summit Overwatch Cup – so this Weekly is a perfect opportunity for an unknown team to make a name for themselves. Thanks to our partners Matcherino, G2A, ROCCAT, PF.GG and OWKings. You can donate $1 to the prize pool using the code ggus15. Additionally, with the code GOSU you can get a 10% discount for lifetime on OWKings.com.

Teams to watch:

With a good portion of the top teams spending the weekend taking part in the Beyond the Summit Overwatch Cup, this Weekly has the potential to be full of surprises. There are still some highly ranked teams, but most are from Europe so will have to deal with the issues that arise when playing on the North American servers. There are going to be some upsets, but here are a few teams to look out for.

1. nubris
Waiting to be picked up by an organization, nubris looks to be a top team right now. They have wins against Northern Gaming Red, Team Liquid, and Code 7 (formerly Gale Force eSports) and their losses have come against some of the best teams in the world like Cloud9 and Luminosity. nubris is going to have a few tough matches this week, but should come out with first place.

2. SG-1
SG-1 is one of those European teams that is going to have to deal with playing on the NA servers. However, they should be able to handle that, as well as most of the competition. SG-1 has fourteen wins and only four losses in the month of July, and are coming off of nine wins in their last eleven games. Those fourteen victories in July have come against some strong competition, including REUNITED, Melty eSports Club, and 2sTroNk. Look for SG-1 to have a strong performance during this Weekly and maybe even come out of it with a top ten world ranking.

3. Melty eSports Club
Melty eSports Club is a risky pick for third place: not only because they are a European team playing on the NA servers, but also because 2sTroNk handed Melty eSports their most recent win. However, Melty eSports has shown signs of being a solid team, and if they have a good day they should come away with a strong finish.

4. 2sTroNk
2sTroNk looks to be a relatively strong team as of late, but they are still inexperienced compared to the other teams mentioned. They have a total of sixty competitive games played, with a 62% win rate. Most of their wins have come against lower tier competition although they do perform well against top tier competition, even though they don’t come away with wins. Luckily for 2sTroNk, they won’t face many top teams during this weekly, with the exception of SG-1 and nubris. Look for 2sTroNk to have a strong performance, finish in the top four, but fall short of the prize money.
