Predictions:

1. Misfits

Misfits are coming off of a great week in which they won both the GosuGamer’s Overwatch Weekly #13 (3-1 over REUNITED) and the Amazon Gaming Series (3-0 over Creation). The addition of Zaprey strengthens an already solid team, which looks to establish their place as one of the best teams in the world. A victory over Rogue would be an upset by GosuGamers rankings, but look for Misfits to ride their recent momentum to a tournament win.

2. Rogue

Rogue is in an interesting spot on the list. Despite currently being ranked number 1 in Europe and number 3 worldwide, their 0-3 loss to a slumping C9 in the recent ONOG tournament shows some weakness. Rogue still holds very strong recent wins over both REUNITED and Creation, but have not faced off against Misfits in recorded competition. Look for strong performances from TviQ to lead his boys through the best teams in Europe.

3. Creation eSports

Creation could be as high as 2nd on this list, but ended up on the same side of the bracket as Misfits, who they recently lost to in the Amazon Gaming Series playoffs. The real x-factor this tournament is how well Creation gels with new pick-up, ToxikeN. Bringing in new players can often propel a team to an extremely good tournament performance, but also leaves room for communication mistakes. Even if Creation do not make it to the Grand Finals, keep a close eye on their possible 3rd place game, as that series could determine the hierarchy of the extremely close European scene.

4. REUNITED

REUNITED holds the title of being the most recent team to take down the current kings of Overwatch, Team EnVyUS, but their recent performances have revealed some serious cracks in the armor. As a victim of the recent McCree and Widowmaker changes, REUNITED has an opportunity to reclaim the throne with wins over Misfits/Creation and Rogue. Unfortunately, REUNITED arguably has the hardest to call first round match against SG-1, but if they can show a convincing performance, expect them to strike fear into the hearts of all  teams in competition.

Agree with my rankings? Feel like I’m sleeping on a team that will surprise me? Looking forward to seeing the best teams in Europe going head to head? Let us know in the comments!
