TaKeTV Takeover Recap & Winners Interview

This weekend the first European LAN event post release took place in the TaKeTV Studios in Krefeld, Germany. If you missed the action, here is what happened.

With the exception of REUNITED and EnVyUs the European elite duked it out in an 8 team double elimination bracket.

After three exciting days of action Rogue was crowned the winner, after beating Creation eSports in a close series 3:4. On their way to the title Rogue were only stopped once and by the very same team that they beat in the grand final: On day two Creation eSports took a convincing 3:1 win over Rogue in the winner's bracket final.

The TakeOver also provided some upsets and surprises, such as the recently ever improving SG-1 not being able to continue their online form and falling short to both Melty and Creation eSports without a map win and Experiement dropping out of the tournament without a single win, but at least showing two decent performances. The positive surprise of the three days were Graviton Surge, who finished third.

On the individual front particularly Graviton Surge’s support kr4tosdigga and tank skipjack, as well as Creation eSport’s linkzr and numlocked had particularly impressive performances, while on the other hand Rogue’s iddqd was pretty much invisible for the first two days. He however redeemed himself with a strong showing in the grand final. The same can’t be said for art1er, who had an overall good showing and was a key to Creation eSports run through the winner's bracket, but was completely outplayed by aKm and iddqd in the overall final.

The final standings of the TakeTV TakeOver look as follows:

Since GosuGamers was on scene, we managed to get an interview out of the guys of Rogue straight after their win. Learn about their thoughts on the tournament, their first LAN:
