Odette pirouettes onto the stage of Genshin Impact's snowy Snezhnaya. Here's how to build her!
With the long-awaited release of Snezhnaya right around the corner, comes the release of its first 5-star character: Odette.
Odette is the prima ballerina of Korolevskiy troupe, but beyond the fancy tutus and the graceful arabesques, she is also a formidable warrior with a Cryo Stellar Linchpin and a preference for the sword. As the first 5-star character directly tied to the region, Odette's kit is pretty split down the middle: she works well as both a DPS and sub-DPS character.
Odette also entirely revolves around the Stellar Glimmer subset of elemental reactions, which include: Stellar-Conduct (which was introduced with Sandrone), and Stellar-Swirl.
But first, what is Stellar-Swirl?
Stellar-Swirl occurs when Cryo and Anemo interact with each other, however, it can only be triggered if one of the elements come from a Stellar Linchpin character–a.k.a characters directly tied to Snezhnaya (except Tartaglia).
When the reaction occurs, a Stellar Vortex is created that will explode after a period of time, with said explosion causing Cryo DMG. Triggering the Stellar-Swirl reaction multiple times will increase the level of the Stellar Vortex, allowing it to cause greater DMG when it explodes.
Odette is a versatile character
Being versatile, Odette can switch between becoming the Main or subDPS of your party. That being said, Odette scales with her total ATK, which means that you need to stack as much attack on her to bring out the most of her potential. However, considering that she also relies on Stellar Glimmer reactions as her bread and butter, her Elemental Mastery also should get a similar amount of attention.

This set is dropping alongside Version 7.0, and is the best generalist option for Odette that also provides considerable buffs to her Stellar Glimmer reactions. It works best for her in both Main and subDPS roles.

Both alternatives cater to one of the only two Stellar Glimmer reactions currently present in Genshin Impact, with a nice dosage of Crit Rate to boot. Not entirely ideal since you'll have to only focus on one Stellar Glimmer reaction, when Odette can provide for two.

These alternatives work the best for Odette if you can't be bothered to pull for her signature weapon, as they provide ample attack and crit increases when needed.
Best teams
Since Odette can only shine in teams that focus wholly on Stellar Glimmer reactions, there's not much room for experimentation when it comes to who she can be paired with.
Odette works best only with Cryo, Electro, and Anemo characters, here's a list of who you can push into her party:

Alhough Nicole is Pyro, she does provide a substantial ATK buff and shielding when necessary. With three Stellar-Linchpin characters, one of them being Electro, Stellar-Conduct is the easiest team to go forward with in Version 7.0.

There are currently no Anemo characters with a Stellar Linchpin, so Odette will have to carry the Stellar-Swirl reaction with Sandrone.
