Silver Wolf LV.999 is Honkai: Star Rail's first dedicated Elation DPS character.
Honkai: Star Rail will soon be celebrating its third anniversary with the release of Version 4.2 on 22 April, with this year's anniversary character being Silver Wolf LV.999.
As Planarcadia's Phantasmoon Games approaches its climax, the Stellaron Hunters have pulled out their first trump card, as Silver Wolf reveals her power as an Emanator of Elation in her Lv.999 form. While Emanators are among the most powerful beings in Honkai: Star Rail's lore, that hasn't always proven to be the case in-game (sorry, Acheron).
So, will Silver Wolf LV.999 be as powerful in-game as her Emanator status suggests? Will she be worth spending Stellar Jade to pull for? Read on, and we'll help you decide.
Should you pull for Silver Wolf LV.999?
Silver Wolf flexes her full potential as an Emanator of Elation in her Silver Wolf LV.999 form, wielding the Imaginary element and following the Path of Elation. As the game's first dedicated Elation DPS character, Silver Wolf LV.999 has a kit built around her ultimate, which literally lets her become a ‘Godmode Player'.
While in the Godmode Player state, Silver Wolf LV.999 is able to use her powerful Enhanced Basic Attack three times. Her Enhanced Basic Attacks notably bounce between all enemies on the field, letting Silver Wolf LV.999 excel against both single targets and waves of multiple enemies. Not only that, using her Enhanced Basic Attack also lets you play a gacha game within your gacha game if she also possesses the ‘Certified Banger’ state. You can randomly gain ‘Top Loot Boxes’ that can either deal more damage, recover skill points, or generate ‘Punchlines’. Silver Wolf may be a Godmode Player, but you can't call her greedy.
Silver Wolf LV.999 is able to use her ultimate once she reaches 60 stacks of ‘Hidden MMR’ (yes, her kit is filled to the brim with gamer references) and can even save up to 300 stacks for consecutive uses. Hidden MMR stacks can be gained by generating Punchlines, so make sure Silver Wolf LV.999 has Elation teammates alongside her to fuel her powerful ultimate. Each stack of Hidden MMR also gives Silver Wolf LV.999 additional Crit Rate, and when her Crit Rate is already at 100%, Hidden MMR gives additional Crit DMG instead.
On top of her powerful kit, Silver Wolf LV.999 also has a global passive that protects active characters from most debuffs once per enemy wave.
If you're already riding the wave of the Elation metagame, then Silver Wolf LV.999 is pretty much a must-pull as the Path's first dedicated DPS character. While her best team once she releases features Yao Guang and Sparxie, don't be discouraged if you don't have one or both of those characters. Version 4.2 will also feature the release of the Elation Trailblazer, so they can help Silver Wolf LV.999 in generating Hidden MMR stacks. With that said, Yao Guang will be a necessary teammate if you want to see Silver Wolf LV.999 at her full potential.
Silver Wolf LV.999 also isn't too difficult to build up properly. If you won't be pulling for her signature Light Cone, good alternatives like ‘Today’s Good Luck' and ‘Mushy Shroomy’s Adventures' are already available. You can also pre-farm Silver Wolf LV.999's best relic sets, namely the ‘Ever-Glorious Magical Girl’ and ‘Punklorde Stage Zero’, ahead of her release.
Silver Wolf LV.999 is looking like a top-tier pick, as one would expect from an anniversary character. If the Remembrance metagame from the Version 3.x cycle is anything to go by, then Elation should still be competitive even after it stops getting shilled. So if you have the Stellar Jade (and we'll be getting plenty in Version 4.2), then Silver Wolf LV.999 will be well worth it.
