Varka finally lands in Genshin Impact, here's how to build him.
After years of waiting, Varka is now finally playable! The Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius boasts a straightforward main DPS kit that relies on the Hexerei buffs. As an Anemo-aligned character with a preference for the claymore, he utilises the various elements to further his damage output through infusions. As such, building Varka is a very simple task, as you will only need to focus on his CRIT and personal DMG.
Varka is a hyper-carry who will need teams tailored to his damage output
All things considered, Varka is what you could categorise as a “selfish DPS”, because of this, his artifact and weapon choices are geared towards providing him as much personal buffs as possible.

As an aggressive DPS, this artifact set is theoretically Varka's best bet for consistent personal buffing. It provides a consistent 25% ATK boost after hitting enemies and, if Varka completes The Witch's Homework to become a Hexerei charactyer, an additional 20% CRIT Rate too. Since it triggers from any attack type and can activate even while off-field, it offers near-perfect uptime and flexibility in team comps.

The first alternative, which pairs Viridescent Venerer set with any artifact set that provides Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro DMG bonus is tailored towards mono-elemental teams that you will Varka into. For example, if you're gunning for a Mono-Pyro team with a side of Vaporize, you'll equip him with a combination of Viridescent Venerer and Crimson Witch of Flames. This is because of Varka's infusion mechanic.
The second alternative just opts to put as much ATK on Varka as possible to maximise is DMG.

Varka is a fairly flexible Anemo character if you have yet to unlock his Hexerei potential, however not doing so can also be detrimental to his overall DMG capability in the long run. As such, it's highly recommended to unlock Varka as a Hexerei character, and place him in a Mono-Hexerei team.
