Varka has been one of the most heavily anticipated characters since the game's launch back in 2020.
Genshin Impact has revealed the new upcoming playable character for Version Luna V, and it's none other than the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius himself, Varka!
Varka has been one of the most long-awaited characters in Genshin Impact, as the commander's presence has been felt since all the way back to the game's first version. He finally made an in-game appearance in Version Luna I, during the Song For the Welkin Moon Archon Quest-line, proving himself to be an immensely charismatic, powerful, and reliable ally.
Here's everything we know about the Grand Master!
Varka joins playable roster in Version Luna V
We first got to know about Varka in the beginning of our journey in Monstadt. Jean, who is the acting Grad Master of the Kights of Favonius, reveals that Varka had left for an expedition half a year before our arrival with 80% of the Knights of Favonius's manpower. Although the goal of the expedition is unknown, Varka had crossed the various nations of Teyvat, met with many of our allies, and became instrumental in guiding us through many of the major (and minor) quests we would be undergoing through his letters.
Varka also proved to be integral in our fight against Rerir in Song of the Welkin Moon, as well as in the final showdown against Dottore in the finale of the questline. His overwhelming power, which he displayed alongside the likes of the Fatui Harbinger Arlecchino, the fourth most powerful of the Harbingers, and Nicole, a mage of the Hexenzirkel, is almost equal to them.
Besides his amazing martial prowess, Varka is known for his warm and personable nature. Razor and Rosaria view Varka as somewhat of an adoptive father figure, as he was the one who rescued them from their struggles, and integrated them into Mondstadt society. Raxor also credits his proficiency with the claymore to Varka, who had taught him how to wield it.
It has long been confirmed that Varka has an Anemo vision, and prefers to wield two claymores. His official reveal seems to confirm that Varka will not take advantage of the Moon Wheel system introduced in Nod-Krai. It is likely that Varka will be a 5-star character.
