The English voice actors for Ganyu and Charlotte have been replaced after Version Luna IV dropped.
Genshin Impact has announced a new wave of recasts with the new Version Luna IV update. The developer has confirmed in a news post that the voice actors for the Liyue character Ganyu, as well as the Fontaine character Charlotte, have been recast.
Charlotte and Ganyu get new voice actors
Although no specific reasons have been given in HoYoverse’s update overview, the former voice actor for Charlotte, Maya Aoki Tuttle released a statement two months prior on 5 November, 2025, that she had stepped away from the role for personal reasons.
Tuttle did not reveal further details about her personal reasons, however, previous statements made in her X (formerly Twitter) account have led fans to believe that the decision she made was tied to her connection with the actors union SAG-AFTRA.
SAG-AFTRA held a months-long video game strike in 2025 on select companies, which led the extensive cast of Genshin Impact and other HoYoverse games to strike in solidarity, even if HoYoverse was not included in the list of struck companies, as the game is non-union.
Ganyu’s voice actress, Jennifer Losi, on the other hand, has had no social media presence since 2024, so the reasons for her departure is unknown. However, Losi is also affiliated with SAG-AFTRA, so it’s possible that she was recast because of this.
Losi also voiced Constance “The Dahlia” in Honkai: Star Rail, but the role was recast last December.
HoYoverse has yet to unveil the new voice actors for Charlotte and Ganyu.
