Luna IV will be a “post-lude” version with lots of new content in store for travelers.
The upcoming Version Luna IV update for Genshin Impact is right around the corner, and with it comes Columbina and Zibai, new weapons, plus exciting new content, one of which is a new look for the traveler twins.
But before we get right into the details, make sure to redeem the livestream codes before they expire on 4 January!

Columbina, Zibai, and Illuga joins playable character roster
After an arduous wait, the former harbinger and moon goddess Columbina is now becoming playable!
Columbina was first introduced in the Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: A Winter Night's Lazzo all the way back in July 2022 as a member of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. She then started to feature prominently in the story in Genshin Impact: Song of the Welkin Moon, where it was revealed that she had left the Fatui and gone into hiding in Nod-Krai. She became a key figure during the crisis against the Racher of Solnari, Rerir.
As of Genshin Impact Luna III, Columbina's whereabouts are unknown following a confrontation with the second-ranked Fatui Harbinger Il Dottore. The new update may touch on Columbina’s fate, and what had occurred to her afterwards.
As a playable character, Columbina will be a 5-star Hydro aligned sub-DPS with a preference for the Catalyst, and who focuses on Lunar reactions. Her kit revolves around Hydro application, Lunar reactions, and enhancing said reactions and the damage it deals. She will also be able to trigger all the reactions with the aid of her party members, given they align elementally with the reactions.
Meanwhile Zibai, who will be a 5-star Geo sword user, seems to be connected to Istaroth, the Ruler of Time.
Zibai is an adeptus with the ability to transform into a beautiful and mighty white horse, and was said to have aided the Geo Archon Rex Lapis during the Archon War. Legends remember her for her enchanting golden eyes, which seem to hold the power to gaze through time itself.
As for her kit, Zibai is primarily a main DPS who specialises on the brand new Lunar-crystallise reaction.
Neuvillette, Ineffa to rerun
Ineffa will join Columbina in the first phase of the limited banner runs for Version Luna IV, while Neuvillette will join Zibai in the second phase.
A new 4-star character is also joining the roster in phase two with Illuga, a Geo support polearm user who is also designed for the Lunar-crystallize reaction. Not much is known about Illuga, but he will be the third four-star character hailing from Nod-Krai.
New content
Version Luna IV may be a “post-lude” to the Nod-Krai Archon Quest line, but the update will provide tons of new stuff to be excited about:
- New weapons and artifacts:
- Nocturne’s Curtain Call–5-star catalyst, Columbina’s best-in-slot
- Lightbearing Moonshard–5-star sword, Zibai’s best-in-slot
- Aubade of Morningstar and Moon–new artifact set, tailored for Columbina
- A Day Carved from Rising Winds–new artifact set, tailored for DPS characters whose DMG relies on ATK%
- New skins:
- Neuvillette–a purchasable new outfit
- Yaoyao–a free Lantern Rite-themed outfit
- Traveller twins–claimable for free; the traveller’s skin will give us a glimpse into what they looked like originally as interstellar sojourners, and will provide new tidbits of lore about their origins.
- New map expansion: A new area is coming with Luna IV, a dangerous place where the Ratniki reside, and is wrought with enemies and challenges ahead. But there will be new rewards, new flora and fauna, new world quests, and a breathtaking view, too!
- New enemies:
- The Doctor–Il Dottore is waiting for a worthy challenger as he becomes the new weekly boss! Donning a more sinister and terrifyingly powerful form thanks to seizing the power of the three moons, his godlike form proves to be quite the debacle that travellers will need to face weekly for talent ascension materials.
- Lord of Hidden Depths: Whisperer of Nightmares–an overworld abyssal boss monster that provides character ascension materials.
New Archon Quest: A Traveler on a Winter’s Night
With the Doctor gearing up to become a god, Nod-Krai is on the brink of destruction. The traveller and their allies band together to attempt to defeat him, but with so much at stake, it’s going to be an incredibly trying and difficult challenge. What will go down in this final showdown? We’re excited to find out!
Lantern Rite: A Lanternlit Ode to the Silvermoon
The fan-favourite New Year’s themed main event, Lantern Rite is coming back grander and better! With Zibai’s arrival to the mortal realm, the traveller and Paimon return to Liyue to partake in the festivities, as well as discover more about Zibai and the adepti.
The event will feature rich rewards in primogems, ascension materials, and more. Additionally, the quest tied to Lantern Rite will be playable even after it ends.
