The Moon Goddess herself joins Genshin Impact's roster of playable characters in Genshin Impact version Luna IV.
Genshin Impact has revealed Columbina Hyposelenia as the new playable character coming in the game's Luna IV version.
Columbina was first introduced in the Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: A Winter Night's Lazzo all the way back in July 2022 as a member of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. She then started to feature prominently in the story in Genshin Impact: Song of the Welkin Moon, where it was revealed that she had left the Fatui and gone into hiding in Nod-Krai.
Who is Columbina in Genshin Impact?
Columbina is the Moon Goddess Kuutar worshipped by the Frostmoon Scions of Nod-Krai, a role thrust upon her shortly after her birth 500 years ago in Hiisi Island. After growing disillusioned with the Frostmoon Scions, Columbina left Nod-Krai to join the Fatui and eventually became the third of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. During her time with the Fatui, Columbina developed close bonds with fellow Harbingers La Signora, Arlecchino, and Sandrone.
However, Columbina would also become disillusioned with the Fatui as a whole, after realising they only sought her power. After fulfilling a promise to the Tsaritsa that drained her of much of her power, she returned to the Silvermoon Hall in Hiisi Island to rest and recover. Columbina's departure would force the Fatui to issue the “Palestar Edict” in order to recover her at any cost, and it is around this time that Columbina would meet the Traveler.
As of Genshin Impact Luna III, Columbina's whereabouts are unknown following a confrontation with the second-ranked Fatui Harbinger Il Dottore.
In Columbina's drip marketing, a certain person named Anastasya Feodorovna Snezhnaya has this to say about Columbina:
"Winter nights know no mercy. She left her curtained nest in frost and snow; no one is obliged to restore that which she has lost."
Many are theorising that Anastasya Feodorovna Snezhnaya is the Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya and the Cryo Archon.
Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse has revealed that Columbina's elemental alignment as a playable character will be Hydro, though the source of her power is not a Vision like most other characters. Columbina's Constellation is also unknown.
Given how Hydro is the most prominent element in the new Lunar reactions, Columbina is looking to be a top character in the Genshin Impact: Song of the Welkin Moon metagame.
Columbina is expected to be released as part of Genshin Impact Luna IV in January 2026.
