Ye Shunguang is looking to be a powerful addition to Version 2.5.
HoYoverse has officially revealed the second Agent to join Zenless Zone Zero’s roster of playable characters in Version 2.5: Ye Shunguang. The thiren character was last seen in the conclusion of Version 2.3’s story content, seemingly adopting the Proxy as her “junior” in the Yunkui Summit faction.

Ye Shunguang set to join the roster in Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.5
With the imminent arrival of Zenless Zone Zero’s Version 2.4 update, HoYoverse is already beginning to drip-tease future playable characters coming to Version 2.5. Earlier this week, the developer announced the S-Rank Ice Defense Agent Zhao for Version 2.5, leaving its second playable S-Rank slot up in the air.
This week, a new Agent Record reveal has cleared things up: Version 2.5’s second S-Rank Agent will be the highly-anticipated Ye Shunguang. Ye Shunguang will join the roster as Zenless Zone Zero’s second Void Hunter, following Hoshimi Miyabi. The title of Void Hunter is bequeathed to highly-skilled individuals by the mayors of New Eridu, reserved only for those who have performed spectacular feats of heroism.
This essentially means that Void Hunter Agents are a cut above the rest, suggesting that Ye Shunguang will be one of the game’s most powerful characters to date when she launches. According to her Agent Record, she is set to be an Attack Specialty character with a unique Attribute, much like her peer Yixuan.
Ye Shunguang will join the roster as part of the Yunkui Summit. In-game, she is known to be the sister of Ye Shiyuan, an NPC heavily involved in Season 2’s ongoing storyline. She first met the Proxy by chance at the end of Version 2.3, having returned to Failume Heights after spending some time away.
According to her Agent Record, she now sees herself as the Proxy’s “second senior sister” after Ju Fufu, much to her own amusement. A quote from Pan Yinhu notes that Ye Shunguang is finally ending “her seclusion” after a long retreat, and he intends to make a meal for her.
Yixuan laments that Ye Shunguang’s “thin shoulders have already carried countless untold hardships,” while Ye Shiyuan says that his sister puts “everyone else’s safety before her own.” A more enigmatic character suggests taking a look at her diary, where an unnamed character is mentioned quite heavily.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.4 launches on 26 November, 2025. Zhao and Ye Shunguang will likely join the roster in the game’s following patch, Version 2.5.
