PUBG Mobile's Version 4.1 update adds Frost Festival, winter-themed map makeovers, and penguins

PUBG Mobile is getting a big new update.

PUBG Mobile had gotten a big winter-themed event update in advance of the holiday season. The battle royale game is celebrating the Frost Festival with new winter-themed modes, allowing players to meet new animal NPCs, and the game’s first AI teammate.

PUBG Mobile’s latest winter-themed event adds more content

PUBG Mobile players can now download the game’s Version 4.1 update, which adds an expanded version of the Frost Festival event. The event now comes with a mode called Frosty Funland, which includes a snowy metropolis called Penguinville. Erangel, Livik, and Vikendi have also been transformed into winter-themed maps for the season.

With this update, players will be able to encounter PowNin, an AI ninja penguin companion who can help the player out during battle with ninja-themed martial arts techniques. It can also be commanded using voice, text, and quick commands in English–similar to Fortnite’s Darth Vader NPC from earlier this year.

The Frost Festival event kicks off a little closer to Christmas on 12 December, allowing players to visit Wintercrest Hall in Snowy Vale, a new limited-time zone. Here, players can listen to holiday tunes and pick up supply rewards.

That’s not the end of Version 4.1’s festive makeovers, however; Classic Mode is also getting festive content and new content in this update, along with new map and gameplay changes. Cycle 9 Season 27 kicks off with this update as well, with a Ranked Arena Event running from 27 November, 2025 to 1 January, 2026.

Metro Royale is also getting a few updates and improvements with the addition of Chapter 29. Home Mode is similarly getting new content via new items in Version 4.1, along with a few winter-themed items and changes.

PUBG Mobile Version 4.1 is now available. Find more information on the update here.
