He's definitely cute but…is there a "Ban Teemo" option?
Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends (LoL) and its upcoming fighting game spin-off 2XKO, has announced that Teemo will be the newest character to join the 2XKO roster. He will be the tenth LoL champion to join 2XKO’s growing roster which includes Ahri, Yasuo, Darius, Braum, Illaoi, Ekko, Jinx, Vi, and Blitzcrank.
Season 0 of 2XKO kicks off alongside Teemo’s debut
Teemo will arrive on 7 October on the same day that 2XKO goes into early access, which will also be the beginning of Season 0.
The game is set to launch for free on PC without the need for an access code, marking a major shift from the current beta. This initial release will feature a Battle Pass, cosmetic items, a full progression system, and a training mode called Combo Trials, where players can practise character combos across varying difficulty levels. Crucially, all progress and unlocked content from this stage will carry over into the official launch.
Who is Teemo?
Teemo is one of the most beloved (and well, hated in-game) champions in LoL. He’s a yordle who is said to be the fearless leader of the Bandle Scouts, a group of yordles who are dedicated to exploring all of Runeterra.
On the Summoner’s Rift, Teemo is mostly played in the top lane where he can bully his opponents with a variety of tools, including his infamous Shrooms, which are traps that slow down and deal damage to enemies.
What are Teemo’s abilities in 2XKO?
Teemo’s trailer seems to be the most fun of the bunch so far but his moves seem to be as annoying as his abilities in LoL.
The trailer showcases Teemo earning merit badges that tie into his junior bandle scout identity. These badges seem to be gained during matches by repeatedly using certain abilities, which then become enhanced with new effects. One clip shows a slingshot badge that makes his shots ignite on impact, while another highlights a poison dart badge that adds toxic damage to his dart-based attacks.
Some of his abilities in LoL were also referenced and present in the trailer. This includes his Blinding Dart, Toxic Shot and Noxious Trap for the Summoner’s Rift, which all look optimised and stylized for 2XKO.
Teemo’s kit also appears to feature layered interactions between abilities, such as a burning bush altering how his parachute works. Combined with the badge system, these mechanics suggest Teemo may be one of the more intricate champions available at launch.
Teemo rounds out 2XKO’s launch roster, but this doesn’t mean that the team will stop adding more in the future. But for now, players will be able to try him out when 2XKO Early Accecss rolls out next week.
