Lucia, Yidhari, and Manato arrive in Zenless Zone Zero 2.3 as shadows stir in forgotten ruins.
HoYoverse, the developer of popular action-RPG Zenless Zone Zero, is leaning into the spooky and mysterious with Version 2.3: Memories of Dreams Bygone.
This update takes players into the newly-unlocked Timesworn Hills, where ghost stories linger in abandoned ruins deep within the Hollow. Alongside Spook Shack, players will unravel eerie tales while welcoming three new agents: Lucia, Yidhari, and Komano Manato. The update also introduces fresh gameplay features, new outfits for Vivian and Manato, and several themed events.
Before stepping into the unknown, Proxies are reminded to redeem the Version 2.2 livestream code for Polychromes and other in-game resources:
Code: LUCIA1015: 300 Polychrome, 30,000 Dennies, two Senior Investigator Logs, and three W-Engine Energy Modules.

Timesworn Hills: Whispers in the Hollow
The Timesworn Hills, a newly revealed region, is famed for its Lumite ore deposits but hides more than wealth beneath its surface. Abandoned research facilities and ruined testing grounds lie scattered across the landscape, carrying unsettling legends of those who once lived, and vanished, here. Tales tell of miners swallowed by the Miasma, a phantom bell that tolls without end, creatures that peer into people’s hearts, and hypnotists who can trap their victims in endless dreams.
This chilling new journey begins with the case of missing miners and Porcelumex employees, pulling Proxies into the Hollow to uncover hidden truths.
New Agents: Lucia, Manato, and Yidhari
Three agents join the battlefield in Version 2.3, with two S-Rank characters and one A-Rank character making their debut.
Lucia
Lucia is an S-Rank Ether Support Agent – will arrive in the first half of Version 2.3. Once a member of the Spook Shack forum from afar, she will appear in Failume Heights for an offline meetup.
In combat, Lucia wields dreamlike Ether powers that let her recreate Ethereals. By gathering Dream Points, she can enter a Dream state and unleash Ether Veil: Wellspring, boosting her allies’ maximum HP and enhancing team damage by raising Sheer Force and triggering Aftershocks. Her signature S-Rank W-Engine, Dreamlit Hearth, will feature alongside her in the first half banner.
Komano Manato
Manato is an A-Rank Fire Rupture Agent – strikes with Sheer DMG scaling from his maximum HP. He joins the battlefield in the first half of Version 2.3 with his A-Rank W-Engine, Grill O’Wisp. Players can also obtain Manato for free through the limited event When Dreams Remain Unfinished.
Yidhari
Yidhari an S-Rank Ice Rupture Agent – will be available in the second half of the update. She builds Sheer Force from her maximum HP, and her icy strikes always deal Sheer DMG, cutting through enemy defences. The lower her HP percentage, the greater her damage, rewarding players who balance risk and recovery. Her S-Rank W-Engine, Kraken’s Cradle, will be included in the second half banner.
Alongside these debuts, S-Rank agents Vivian (Ether – Anomaly) and Ju Fufu (Fire – Stun) will return. Vivian will appear in the first half of the banner cycle, while Ju Fufu will return in the second half.
New Outfits: Manato and Vivian
Komano Manato receives a new outfit, White Heart Silhouette, which can be unlocked for free by completing the Main Story mission.
Vivian’s swimsuit outfit, Iris of the Shore, will also be released. To obtain it, Proxies must spend 180 Encrypted Master Tapes on limited-time banners, though it will later be added to the in-game store.
Silver Blade Unleashed: Soldier 0 Anby
Players with Soldier 0 Anby can unlock new powers in Version 2.3. Some new skills are available, optimised skill combos have been introduced, and her Core Passive has been enhanced.
Events in Version 2.3
When Dreams Remain Unfinished
This story-driven event connects players to Yidhari’s dreamscape, where they must piece together her memories and uncover past truths. Gameplay takes the form of a turn-based mini-game in which players control monsters to fight other monsters, with attack priority determined by distance. More monsters can be unlocked as the event progresses. Manato can also be obtained for free here.
Threshold Simulation: Branching Echoes
In this event, Proxies must deploy multiple teams across several missions with Fairy’s support. Missions include Required, Optional, and Final Stages, with branching choices that affect the story’s development and determine the ending. Multiple different endings can be discovered.
Chronicle of Counseling
Yixuan Shifu and the seniors are away and now Proxies must take their place in listening to the troubles and concerns of agents and citizens of New Eridu and give them advice, or foresee their future.
SNAP! Shining Strike
One of Zenless Zone Zero’s beloved events from Version 1 is making a return. The photography-based combat camera event comes back with new features, offering expanded camera controls, more filters, and additional frames, giving players even more freedom to capture striking in-game scenes.
A glimpse of future agents
The Version 2.3 livestream also teased future arrivals: Banyue, Dialyn, Zhao, and Ye Shunguang. Many appear to be connected to the Yunkui Summit, though more details will be revealed in coming updates.
Rewards in Version 2.3
As part of Version 2.3: Memories of Dreams Bygone, HoYoverse is giving Proxies a thank-you package. In addition to the usual rewards of 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons, players will also receive an extra 600 Polychromes during the update.
