Zenless Zone Zero is adding Lucia and Manato to its playable roster.
HoYoverse has begun drip-teasing two upcoming Agents for its Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3 update. Both of these two new Agents hail from the Spook Shack faction, but one of them will be especially familiar to players: Komano Manato, who joins the roster as an A-Rank Agent. The second of the two new Agents is the S-Rank Lucia.
Komano Manato, an A-Rank? Say it ain’t so
That’s right, the hunky Spook Shack Agent Komano Manato is officially an A-Rank Agent. Players recently saw quite a lot of Manato in Version 2.1’s story content, seeing as he’s quite close to his fellow Spook Shack faction members Ukinami Yuzuha and Alice Thymefield. The red-haired wolf thiren fights with a large sword.
Reception to Manato’s unveiling as an A-Rank Agent has skewed negative online, however, as a section of the playerbase had hoped that he would be S-Rank instead. All one has to do is check the replies for Manato’s drip tease on HoYoverse's various social media platforms to see disappointed players lashing out against the developer.
To quote user Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, for example: “F**k ZZZ. Boring game, garbage decisions, random nobody gets S-rank and joins magically the Spookshack, but Manato, who was see since 2.0, gets the A-rank treatment just for being male. I hope every banner flops. Can’t wait for this game to get washed away.”
It’s fair to say that Zenless Zone Zero players have built up an attachment to Manato, after the Agent made an appearance in multiple version updates in a row this year. Fortunately, Manato is still very much a viable in-game pick despite being A-Rank, being the first Fire Rupture Agent on the roster.
Lucia joins the fray as an S-Rank Agent
Lucia’s drip tease comes as a surprise, as most players might not have expected yet another Spook Shack faction member to join the roster so soon. This witchy new character is an S-Rank Agent who seems to have a connection with Yuzuha, who praises her “determined writing style” in an Agent Record.
This suggests that Lucia is an author of some sorts, who also claims to hail from a “tribe” living “on the edge of the Hollow, far from civilisation.” Lucia is an Ether Support Agent, and appears to be a goat thiren, judging by her horns and elf-like ears.
Zenless Zone Zero's next update is Version 2.2, which launches in September.
