Here’s a trailer:
PUBG Mobile’s Version 3.9 update adds a Transformers crossover
The battle royale game PUBG Mobile is adding a crossover with Hasbro’s Transformers franchise, of all things. Its Version 3.9 update, which is now available, has added a brand-new themed mode that allows players to use Cybertron Beacons to summon either Optimus Prime or Megatron on the map. They can also call in special Cybertron Crates packed with precious Energon and other supplies.
Transformers characters will be able to transform between vehicle and Autobot/Decepticon modes on the fly, each mode armed with unique abilities. Players can also collect Energon on the map to give Optimus Prime and Megatron ultimate abilities for use in combat.
However, when both Transformers meet on the battlefield, they’ll create a special arena to battle it out in a duel. The Autobot leader has a chance to reign supreme over the Decepticon leader, however, as players can revive him if he gets knocked down before the duel. At the end of every match, the Transformers will drop unique rewards upon their exit. More Transformers-themed items are set to drop on 18 July, including more vehicles.
More new content in PUBG Mobile Version 3.9
PUBG Mobile’s Version 3.9 update also adds a cyberpunk-themed area called Neon Outpost, which can be found on Erangel, Livik, and Sanhok maps. The area includes three different zones, with different features including a boxing ring, a black market, and a burger joint.
Metro Royale is also getting an upgrade, specifically with new content for Zombie Uprising. In this mode, players can now find better player progression, hatchable creatures, and a tiered monster system. Additionally, the all-new 3D Hub now gives players a space to try out minigames, emotes, and more in multiplayer.
A Ranked Arena competitive event is also running from 24 July to 2 September, with 28 skill tiers and exclusive rewards. World of Wonder is getting a brand-new Paintgun and Ice Dragon Boss, while Classic Mode gets more weapons. The Mancala is also coming to Home Mode for players to try out with friends.
PUBG Mobile Version 3.9 begins Cycle 9 Season 25, and will run until 2 September, 2025.
