OG are down to four players once again and will look to change things up in the support roles.
A yearlong of roster instability for OG ends with another tough situation as the team is looking to replace one of its supports in the final days before the big qualifier battle for a spot at The International 12. Teams have until August 3 to remove players from their line-ups and until August 10 to lock in the final rosters for TI12 and TI12 regional qualifiers.
OG are bound to fight for one of the two tickets to Seattle up for grabs in the Western Europe qualifiers and will do so with yet another revamped line-up. This time around, they moved their position 5 support, Tommy "Taiga" Le to inactive status and are letting the player explore his options ahead of the TI qualifiers.
Taiga joined OG in the post-TI10 shuffle when the back-to-back two-time TI champions decided to retire and pass the torch to a group of promising talents. Unfortunately, the past couple of years since the change have been plagued with roster instability, visa issues caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and overall incapacity of having the team compete at its highest potential. Besides having to almost constantly swap in and out their coaches Mikhail "Misha" Agatov and Evgenii "Chu" Makarov, at the beginning of this competitive year, Taiga has also needed a break to deal with anxiety.
In order to keep the team going, Sébastien "Ceb" Debs has made multiple comebacks from retirement and has helped OG to win ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 and place top 4 at PGL Arlington. He stood in this year as well on a couple of occasions, most recently at the Riyadh masters, after which it became clear that the team needs him to fully commit.
In the Riyadh aftermath, OG announced Ceb back as a full member of the current line-up, and now, the organization has about one week to find the fifth and final puzzle piece for The International 2023 qualifiers.
The Western Europe brawl for two spots at TI12 is set to begin on the 27th of August and this year the competition is more stacked than ever with Team Secret, Nigma Galaxy, Quest Esports, Entity, and OG being the biggest contenders.
