DK silences critics as they take down Zenith to qualify

DK took the final slot on the G-1 Asian Qualifiers with a convincing win over Zenith. They will be joining compatriots LGD.cn and iG, Malaysian team NeoES.Orange and two other Western teams on the LAN playoffs to be held later this year.

DK took the win against Zenith in straight games on the last game of the Asian qualifiers despite the Singaporeans coming into the game the heavy favorite. The Singaporean team can be remembered as the only team to take a game off on iG on this tournament, despite playing with a stand-in.

With this win, DK will be heading to the G-1 League offline event in Shanghai later this year and will be part of an Asian delegate for the playoffs exactly identical to last year's.

This is unfortunately the end of the road for Zenith, as they suffered three straight setbacks, losing to iG, LGD.cn and DK, to close out the tournament.

Aside from these teams, two teams from the West will also advance into the offline finals to be held at Shanghai, China later this year. The G-1 Western Qualifiers will start this Sunday, 14 April at 10:00 CEST.

The five lucky winners for all three GosuBet for the relegation games will be announced tomorrow.

Game 1

The game started with a ten-hero encounter in the Radiant jungle, with DK getting the first blood but Zenith equalizing with two kills.

The Chinese team then proceeded to let BurNing on the Weaver take the position three, something that many were not really accustomed to. Instead, it was rOtk getting the safe lane on free farm. The Singaporean team, on the other hand, ran Batrider on the jungle and had Morphling on a comfortable lane.

Batrider had a nice time on his Blink Dagger, getting it at minute 12. However, it was not put to use because of the better mid-game of DK. Instead, it was DK putting up the pressure early - utilizing a Shadow Blade on Kunkka and an Orchid of Malevolence on Queen of Pain.

DK attempted a smoke gank by the 21st minute mark, but they missed Sven sitting on the easy camp on the Radiant Jungle. Zenith was looking for an engagement of their own, and they grouped up as five to meet up with their opponents. DK easily won the encounter, taking a commanding 2-11 kill lead.

Two minutes later, it was Zenith's turn to smoke and they went for Queen of Pain on the middle lane. There was a Kunkka Torrent and Ghost Ship to save her though, and it turned into two deaths for the Singaporean squad instead. They proceeded to take the last tier-one tower of Zenith, obtaining total map control.

While being farmed, Morphling went with a very defensive build. While being his team's biggest source of damage, he had a relatively stat-oriented build in a Black King Bar, Linken's Sphere and an Eye of Skadi 40 minutes into the game.

Slight gleem of hope for Zenith

Zenith seemingly conceded their bottom melee barracks for a trade for Morphling's farm. DK had a crucial mistake though, being overconfident and overstaying on the Radiant Jungle. DK was wiped, and letting Morphling complete his Satanic in the process.

Both teams contested the third Roshan at minute 51. After practically ignoring Morphling and aiming all other, DK finally brought down the agility carry of Zenith after kiting, and they took Roshan as well. They then proceeded to take a shot mid, and Zenith's lack of DPS has become very apparent. The Chinese team sieged the middle lane, and then moved over to the top lane. Zenith called GG before minute 57.

Game 2

Game two saw Zenith going for an interesting Chen, Axe and Warlock offensive trilane, while DK was able to get one of their comfort heroes in Anti-Mage. It was the Chinese team getting the first blood though, with Keeper of the Light and Nyx Assassin landing their skills on multiple heroes.

Zenith's offensive trilane is making it hard for Anti-Mage to farm. Magnus, who was also losing his lane at mid against Queen of Pain, rotated at the bottom lane. DK was able to get the two supports on that movement. Meanwhile, Syllabear is having a virtual farm against Clockwerk. The latter, however, was able to deny the top tier-1 tower.

The mid-game and push-oriented line-up of Zenith started to make a move at minute 12. They went with a four-man gank at the bottom, killing two supports and losing one. They were also able to get the two remaining tier-1 tower of DK, though one of it was again denied by DK.

A big team fight ensued near the Roshan pit at the 17-minute mark right as Zenith claimed Rosh, and a three-hero trade happened. While Zenith didn't lose the Aegis, DK was able to force a buyback on Queen of Pain.

Zenith tried to push again, but Anti-Mage's split push threat continues to confuse the Singaporean team, and DK was able to get their third tower deny. The split push finally ensued on the next minute, with Zenith taking down their fifth tower and DK taking their first.

DK jumped into a tanky Axe at minute 23, using the Reverse Polarity solely on him. However, Warlock dropped his Golem and Chen used his Hand of God, reversing that team fight for Zenith. They then played safely until they were able to take Roshan four minutes later. Anti-Mage, however, got a trade of his own - getting a solo kill on Axe and his team getting the two other tier-1 towers, one of which was denied.

DK was able to get a big pick-off on Queen of Pain at the 29-minute mark, who also happens to be holding a gem. Zenith overextended again two minutes later, jumping into DK's middle high ground. They thought Anti-Mage will be split-pushing, but the farmed carry teleported back and DK got three kills off Zenith.

Bear was picked off on his team's jungle at the 34th minute, and his team conceded two lanes because of that. A few minutes later, DK was able to pick off Warlock and Zenith immediately taps out. DK took the last slot on the G-1 Asia Qualifiers with a convincing 2-0 win.
