After a rocky start in the G-1 Champions League group stages, Evil Geniuses redeemed themselves with a spectacular performance against TongFu last night (despite playing with hyhy as a stand-in). Their victory also means another international team may now join either Orange or MUFC at the the offline LAN semifinals in Fuzhou.

If anything, game one was a masterclass in Batrider with Demon carrying his team throughout most of the first thirty minutes with clutch Blink and Flaming Lasso ganks after a great start on the safe lane against Veronica's Beastmaster.
The mid game was rife with situations where TongFu's heroes were caught off guard by Batrider (sometimes with an infested Lifestealer), initiated upon and placed on cliffs and unpassable terrain where they eventually burned to death.
While TongFu attempted to turtle the game with movements around Roshan and protecting Hao's Shadowfiend, the advantage that EG already established in terms of map control proved too much for them to handle.

Deciding to adopt a "Knights" strategy that they had previously picked up in game two, EG did well to respond to ganks and establishing an early game advantage with the power of Chen and Omniknight.
After a successful mid barracks attempt at 16 minutes after Roshan, TongFu finally decided to respond by split pushing EG with Queen of Pain and Prophet while Night Stalker led ganks across the map. While successful for awhile, EG waited for the second Roshan to be up before making another attempt at bottom barracks.
TongFu's attempt at taking down either Dragon Knight or Chaos Knight proved futile without physical DPS on Bounty Hunter or Night Stalker and they called the GG at 30 minutes, giving EG the series.
