iG sends Orange to G-1 Lower Bracket

It was the closest any team had come to defeating Invictus Gaming at G-1 Champions League yet, but Orange were ultimately edged out in two close but exciting games. iG spared them no expense as they marched past the Malaysian powerhouse into round two of the upper bracket.

Orange came out strong early in the first game with the burst combination of Dark Seer and Queen of Pain sending them into a 5,000 gold and experience lead by the first fifteen minutes.

However, iG's persistence and ability to pick the right fights slowly gave them the advantage incrementally as they were able to take out Queen of Pain and Dark Seer in fights easily with Batrider and Necrolyte, while Yamateh's Chaos Knight was becoming a non-factor with the bad early game that he had.

With two crucial Roshans going in iG's favor, Orange were eventually unable to defend their barracks with Aegis and Cheese on Necrolyte and Night Stalker and they conceded the first game.

The second game was set up to be a repeat of the first as iG struggled to adjust to the lesser-seen picks of Nyx Assassin and Slardar that Orange had picked up and used to gank them in brute force during the early game.

The team fight potency of iG's lineup gave them breathing space as soon as mid game approached and Black King Bars on Shadow Fiend and Night Stalker proved too much for the spell reliant lineup of Orange to handle.

As with how the first game panned out, iG was able to drag the game late and with the right amount of farm, push their way to victory with one successful team fight after another.

It's an all-Chinese showdown tomorrow as powerhouses DK and LGD duke it out in a best of three series to see who will advance to face iG in round two of the upper bracket. The match will start at 13:00 CET. Meanwhile, check out available vods of G-1 tournament so far.
