Shakira and Imaginary to ESWC from French qualifier

As the number of French teams participating in the ESWC has been doubled, both Shakira and Imaginary qualify for the Grand Final.

In the four-team ESWC France offline final, Team Shakira and Imaginary have secured their tickets to the ESWC Grand Final starting on Saturday. In a round-robin system, they competed with Casual Gaming and WWG for the top in ESWC France and two tickets for the main tournament.

Team Shakira went through the tournament, all played on Thursday, undefeated. All best-of-ones have been one by the players. Imaginary won against both Casual Gaming and WWG and thus takes the runner-up position for ESWC France. While Casual Gaming still was able to beat WWG, they will not proceed to the Grand Final.

As it currently looks like, there will still be a final match for first place in ESWC France overall, played in a direct match Shakira against Imaginary later this Thursday.

With these qualifications to the main ESWC tournament, the tournament lineup of five teams is completed. Shakira does look like a decent competitor to dignitas for the strive to the final against most likely Na'Vi. Though Algeria is said to give a no-show, ESWC still lists them as one of the participating teams and used the team for group drawing.
