Moscow Five announces M5.Dota2 Open

A brand new tournament featuring a prize pool of $1,700 will kick off this weekend with sixteen teams in participation. The M5 Dota 2 Open will play host to familiar names such as Moscow Five, DTS and Quantic. An English stream by TobiWan will be available.

The Qualifiers

Over the weekend, more than two hundred teams applied for the qualifiers and played for a chance to be listed alongside eight invited teams from the European region. The qualifiers have concluded with eight teams successfully making the cut.

Some of the teams were more than eager to face Saturday's challenge after earning a slot in the top sixteen. "We are happy to take part in this tournament and will try to show everything we are capable of in order to reach the Grand Final," says Denis ”IceCreamik” Gorbenko from team SFZ.

Meanwhile, Balder “Buller” Jensen from The Tough Bananas, a team boasting veterans Balsam and Calculus, had this to say regarding the organisation of the tournament: "We were very pleased with the organization of the qualifier. Usually it’s very hard for foreign teams to participate in Russian tournaments, but in this qualifier everything went smoothly and admins were very helpful. We’re excited to be qualified for this tournament and we hope to play some nice games."

Positive reviews can only spell highly anticipated matches and smooth proceedings for this weekend's tournament as the sixteen teams lock horns.
